2023-24 Virtual Learning Application for Students in Grades 9-12

2023-24 Virtual Learning Application for Students in Grades 9-12

The Pulaski Community School District will once again be partnering with the Kiel School District to meet our needs for a virtual learning program for the 2023-2024 school year through Kiel eSchool (Grades 9-12).

For consideration into the PCSD Virtual Learning Program through Kiel eSchool for the 2023-24 school year, please complete this application. The application window is open through Monday, May 29, 2023.  After the screening of applications, families will be notified of acceptance or denial by June 12, 2023.

If you are considering virtual learning for your high school student for this upcoming school year, please consider your child's academic and life skills success in a physical classroom as learning virtually is not for every student.

  • If accepted into the Pulaski Community School District Virtual Program students must remain in the program for the entire semester. Acceptance will be re-evaluated between 1st and 2nd semester of the current school year and only at that time can students choose to return to in-person learning.
  • For success in a virtual learning program, students need to be self motivated, good time managers, responsible learners, and willing to commit to daily work.
  • The time investment students can expect will be 5-6 hours per day.  A regular learning schedule includes daily attendance, participation and activity completion.
  • Hands-on courses such as music, art, science, technology, agriscience, family and consumer science and physical education are often difficult in an online program.
  • The content and curriculum is not created by Pulaski staff, but rather from a vendor who specializes in national curriculum.
  • Students will have non-PCSD teachers for all classes.  There will be a Virtual Learning Coordinator from Pulaski who works with the Kiel eSchool’s virtual learning staff.
  • All students accepted into the Virtual learning Program will be expected to follow the procedures outlined in the Pulaski Community School District Virtual Learning Handbook

Space is limited and not all students will be approved for attendance in the virtual learning program.   Acceptance will be based on students' ability to meet the established criteria for academic performance, credit attainment, attendance, engagement and support needs.
