Principal's Corner

Glenbrook PrincipalAt Glenbrook, our motto of “Love, Laughter, and Learning” is on display each and every day and I am proud to be a part of such an enthusiastic and positive learning community.  At Glenbrook, we believe in building strong positive partnerships between our school and its families in order to provide the absolute best for our students academically, emotionally, and socially.  These parent partnerships along with a dedicated and caring staff are the hallmark of our school.

Once again technology is leading the way here at Glenbrook.  In grades K-3 each class received 5 iPad Air 2's to share along with their current devices and in 4th grade, each class received 10 iPad Air 2's bringing them to a ratio of 1 device per 2 students.  Not to be outdone, each one of our 5th grade students will have access to their own individual iPad  throughout the day.  This 1:1 plan is part of a district wide initiative aimed at equipping our students with tools and resources aimed at increasing student engagement and opportunities to enrich and transform their learning experiences.  We can't wait to see the results as this plan continues to be implemented.

This year Glenbrook Elementary will continue to utilize Stepping Stones for its math curriculum, offer Early World Language to our kindergarten through fifth grade students and utilize PBIS for promoting positive behaviors throughout our school.  PBIS is an initiative that recognizes our students for their "Respectful, Responsible, and Safe" behavior.  The program has been successful, recognizing literally thousands upon thousands of positive student behaviors since its implementation!  Our LEAP (Learning Enrichment and Proficiency) program which creates flexible learning groups for our students will also continue along coding classes for technology and hands on science activities.  Glenbrook also offers numerous other clubs and programs such as student council, choir, school safety patrol, 5th grade Spanish club, our spring running club, SOARING, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, AAA after school program, and other community sponsored activities, clubs, and athletics programs

On behalf of everyone here at Glenbrook, thank you for visiting our school’s website.  We are excited that you have taken some time to learn a little bit more about our school, as well as all of the great things happening here and in our community.  From our school blog and tweets, to our PBIS and PTO web pages, I hope that you’ll find everything you need just a few “clicks” away.  If not, please be sure to contact us here at school.  It is our privilege to help our parents and students out in any way that we can.
