ProStart students win the Culinary Showdown

From Fox11 News:

The contest was between Preble and Pulaski High School.

Ten teams from each school got to prepare appetizers.

About 300 people attended the fundraiser and could sample each dish.

"In the kitchen, like it's such a rush but like once everyone gets a handle of it, everyone just helps each other, knows what to do and settles down to get this done," said Preble High School student, Roosy Maritnez.

The students love working as a team and the sense of community it brings.

"The awards ceremony, you know, seeing everyone put their vote in for the People's Choice Award. That's honestly my favorite part, is the People's Choice Award. Even though the judges you know they really have that secure palate, but I think when everyone comes together to vote for one dish I think that's like the best thing," said Pulaski High School student, Kendall Peller.

The students had to prepare one hot appetizer and one cold, about 400 of each.

Some of them started at 7 a.m. that morning.
