Joel Jarock, PHS math teacher, awarded a Golden Apple

We are elated to celebrate our 2026 Golden Apple Award recipient, Mr. Joel Jarock! Joel is a math teacher at Pulaski High School, and a PHS graduate himself (Class of 1989).

He received the award during a math test this morning. (Graciously offering the students a second test day as focus turned elsewhere.) In the group surprising him with the Golden Apple were his wife, son, daughter (via FaceTime), and his parents.

In his brief remarks with FOX 11, Joel gave thanks to all those who supported him and to fellow educators he has learned from over the duration of his career.

PHS Lead Principal Mrs. Lindsey Mathys shares this commendation for her colleague: "Mr. Jarock’s 30 years in education have had a lasting impact on countless students at PHS. We are incredibly fortunate to have him as part of our school community, where his dedication, passion and genuine ability to connect with others have positively influenced both students and staff. He is truly deserving of the 2026 Golden Apple Award!"
