The Pulaski Community School District recently distributed approximately 3,600 iPads to students K-12. The distribution was originally supposed to take place in spring of 2024, but was delayed due to shipping issues.

Pulaski News got insight from Amy Uelmen, director of Instructional Technology. Since Pulaski High School students would have under 25 minutes to complete their iPad swap, Uelmen explained that the process needed to be as seamless as possible. The PHS Hub set students up for success with helpful signs and instructions.

Uelmen emphasized the amount of work that went on “behind the scenes”. She said that 25 staff were involved in the handout, whether they helped unbox the new materials or they assisted students in the HUB. Staff worked hands-on; each iPad was individually set up by a PCSD employee. In total, there were 10 dumpsters full of cardboard from the various packages.

Each student received a 10th generation iPad, a Logitech keyboard case and a Logitech crayon.

Grades K-5 will keep their iPads at school, while grades 6-12 will have permission to bring them to and from school.
