Haydon will lead PHS girls swimming; will remain as boys' coach

Nick Haydon

Nick Haydon is the new girls head swimming coach at his alma mater. He replaces Connor Huff, who resigned to focus on his full-time position. Haydon has also served asPHS boys swim coach for eight seasons.

"We were sad to see Coach Huff leave but know that we are in excellent hands with Coach Haydon,” said PHS athletic director Janel Batten.

Nick does an excellent job with the PHS boys’ program here at Pulaski, Batten said. She is thankful for the opportunity for him to share his knowledge and passion with the female swimmers as well.

“He is a familiar face at the PCMS pool, and we know he will do an awesome job with the girl’s program as well. We are excited for the future of Pulaski swim and dive," Batten said.

Haydon is a 2008 graduate of Pulaski High School, where he swam for four years and was captain for three years. He attended UW-Whitewater, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and UW-Green Bay. He recently started as aquatics supervisor for the Green Bay YMCA after working 10.5 years at Tundra Lodge. He lives with his girlfriend, Bailey, and dog, Zeke.

He is excited to take on the challenge of coaching both programs.

“I am excited to coach the girls’ team as well. We’re going to take what Coach Huff started and we’re going to build off that and try to continue improving and sending more athletes to the state meet.”

Haydon has already met a few of the PHS girls’ swimmers while helping with Swim Club. “I’ve been at the meets,” he said. “We do have a lot of talent and potential.”
