T-shirts, such as the one pictured, and towels will be on sale at Pulaski and Green Bay Preble high schools, as part of the Packers Vs. Cancer fundraiser for the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.

Pulaski High School’s homecoming will be even more special this year thanks to the Green Bay Packers and the National Football League.

Green Bay Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy will be on hand to present a $200,000 Green Bay Packers/NFL Club Matching Grant from the Packers and the NFL for the Red Raiders Field of Dreams project. So far, $1 million of the $2.2 million goal has been raised for Phase II of the project. To find out more, go to: www.redraiderfuture.org.

Also, both Pulaski High School and Green Bay Preble High School, participants in the Oct. 5 homecoming game, which kicks off at 7 p.m. Oct. 5 at Saputo Stadium, will participate in the Packers Vs. Cancer campaign. Special towels and T-shirts will be available for purchase the week prior to the game at both schools and during the homecoming game. The schools will be allotted specific numbers of shirts in many sizes that will sell for $10. Towels will sell for $5. The school that sells the most will receive a $1,000 donation. A raffle will also be held. Money raised will benefit the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.

Also, three “mystery” Green Bay Packers will make an appearance for the first half of the game. The night will also feature appearances by the PHS Marching Band and PHS Dance Team. Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Saputo Stadium ticket booths for $4 for adults and $2 for students. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

“Cancer continues to touch the lives of many in our community, and we’re proud to team up with Bellin Health and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation to show our support for the families and individuals that have been affected,” said Murphy. “By increasing awareness and raising funds, we can ensure that more people get screened and have the resources they need to fight cancer.”

Packers Vs. Cancer will be highlighted by the Packers-49ers game on Oct. 15, presented by Bellin Health, which will recognize cancer survivors on the field during the pregame Ambassador Line, the national anthem and halftime activities. Game attendees can also show their support with the game giveaway flag.

Come support talented athletes, dancers and musicians and help the Green Bay Packers and Bellin Health in their efforts to raise money to help fight cancer.
