Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir is a group of mostly junior and senior choir members who audition to be a part of the group.  They meet before school on Tuesdays and Fridays.  They sing a variety of music: jazz, pop, Broadway, a cappella.  

Chamber Choir rehearses on Wednesday and Friday mornings 6:30-7:25 a.m. Students earn one-half credit for their participation in this ensemble. 

They perform at the annual Red Raider Showcase, Sounds of the Season, Solo and Ensemble, and Spring Concert each year. 

Achievements

• 2022 - State Solo and Ensemble: Contemporary Acapella - second and Vocal Jazz - first
• 2021 - State Solo and Ensemble: Contemporary Acapella - first and  Vocal Jazz - first
• 2020 - Qualified for State in Contemporary Acapella and Vocal Jazz - No state performance due to COVID
• 2019 - State Solo and Ensemble: Contemporary Acapella - first with Exemplary Nomination and Vocal Jazz - first
• 2018 - State Solo and Ensemble: Contemporary Acapella - first and Vocal Jazz - first

Other Choir Groups

Acafellas and Descant Get Enough

Descant Get Enough and Acafellas are student-led ensembles. Descant is composed of all treble singers and Acafellas has all tenor/bass singers. Each group sings in the contemporary acapella genre and performs each year at the Red Raider Showcase, Solo and Ensemble, and the Spring Concert. Descant and Acafellas meet year round before school (6:30-7:25 a.m.) on Mondays and Thursdays. Kathy Brown oversees the groups.

Show Choir

Show Choir performs each year at the Red Raider Showcase. They have a summer camp where they learn the music and choreography for the show. They also meet Tuesday mornings from 6:30 to 7:20 a.m. from September until the first week in November.  Melissa Welsing provides choreography. Kathy Brown leads the music.
