The PCMS Red Raider Bucks program is run through the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Support (PBIS) program in the Pulaski Community School District, which promotes positive behavior of our students. The program is to aid in teaching students expected behavior, acknowledging them when they get it right, and supporting them when they do not.
The PCMS staff has introduced, modeled, and practiced the school-wide expectations in the hallways, cafeteria, bathrooms, library media center, assemblies, and buses. Staff members have also introduced, modeled, and practiced expected voice volume throughout the building.
Students are rewarded with Red Raider Bucks when they are noticed exemplifying positive behavior. There are donation stations that represent each village or township within the district down a hallway. Each buck is worth 50 cents and students can drop their bucks into whichever box they want.
At the end of the year, the school rewards each township with a check of whatever amount of Red Raider Bucks were donated. This gives the students a chance to give back to the community.
On top of this, PCMS holds three all-school celebrations each year in honor of PBIS. There are activities and prizes at these events.
