Pulaski Community School District superintendent Bec Kurzynske and Pulaski High School principal Jeremy Pach Wednesday visited the Howard-Suamico School District to make personal donations to The Giving Tree pantry.
Last week, Kurzynske and Pach challenged their counterparts in the H-S School District based on the results of last Friday’s varsity football game between the Pulaski Red Raiders and the Bay Port Pirates at Saputo Stadium.
The Pirates topped the Red Raiders 29-22 so the Pulaski district leaders Wednesday made good on their end of the challenge.
"I am so proud of the involvement and support of our PCSD community for our students and our schools,” said Kurzynske. “I am pleased to be able to share that support through a contribution to The Giving Tree pantry while generating additional interest and excitement surrounding the Raider-Pirate football game last week. I look forward to continuing the positive aspects of the traditional rivalry between the districts."
The Giving Tree pantry provides basic needs and resources to families in need with children in the H-S School District. The Giving Tree also provides resources for students in the H-S School District to enable them to participate in educational opportunities and school events.
“It was a great game on Friday,” Pach said. “Together, we felt it would be terrific to make it great for one of the food pantries as well. I was excited to be in the stands for the game and to donate for an even better reason this week. I challenge our counterparts at the H-S School district to continue this new tradition as a part of our rivalry.”
