Band and General Music Teacher

Mr. Smith is in his 3rd year of teaching at Pulaski Community Middle School. Before teaching at PCMS, Mr. Smith taught at John F. Kennedy High School in Cedar Rapids, IA and Solon Middle School in Solon, IA, as well as served as a music faculty member at the David Adler Cultural Center in Libertyville, IL.

Mr. Smith's duties include directing the 8th grade concert band, assisting with the 6th and 7th grade concert bands, directing jazz II, teaching 6th grade general music at PCMS, as well as conducting the pit orchestra for the musicals at PHS.

Outside of the school day, Mr. Smith teaches private lessons to brass and percussion students, is an active member of the Pulaski Area Community Band and plays drums in the rock band Bad Taxidermy.

Mr. Smith graduated from Cornell College with honors, earning a bachelor of music degree majoring in music education with an instrumental emphasis.
