This is to inform you of our current parking lot drop off and pick up procedures for our students.
Our students who are bus riders will be dropped off on Green Bay Street (playground). Our walkers, bikers and some car riders will use the Front Street (PACE) entrance. All other car riders will use the entrance to the parking lot, where they will be dropped off on the sidewalk by door #3. Each day we will have staff on hand to supervise beginning at 7:20 for all of these locations. At 7:30 our school bell rings and students begin to enter the building. Our 7:40 tardy bell signals that students are expected to be in their classrooms by this time. However, on inclement weather days (rainy days, below 0 temps, etc.), students are brought in to supervised areas to avoid the elements.
Dismissal is always a challenge, especially during the first few weeks. Bus students will dismiss on the Green Bay Street (playground) side. Walkers and bikers will dismiss through the Front Street (PACE) entrance. Those students being picked up by car will be escorted curbside right to you. This process eliminates the need for parents to take little ones out of car seats and keeps everyone from having to walk through a parking lot, resulting in a much safer and more convenient process.
Just before dismissal, car riders report to our "Little Gym" area. When all grade levesl have arrived, we will escort students by grade level to designated areas on the sidewalk (ex: K will have a spot, 1st grade will have a spot, etc.). Parents will then pull up curbside and students can enter passenger side from the sidewalk. Once a parent has their children, they can then utilize the left hand passing lane in the lot to exit, eliminating the need to follow the rest of traffic all the way around to the exit which has two turning lanes, a right only lane and a left only lane.
