Nursing Services

School nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing that advances the well being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. To that end, school nurses facilitate positive student responses to normal development; promote health and safety; intervene with actual and potential health problems; provide case management services; and actively collaborate with others to build student and family capacity for adaptation, self management, self advocacy, and learning."

NEW COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT VACCINATION GUIDELINES

STARTING OCTOBER 1st, 2012


Beginning October 1st, 2012, if you have insurance that covers vaccines you will have to make an appointment with your physician to get vaccinated.
 

The health departments will continue to provide immunizations for:

  • Children who have no insurance, Medicaid, Native American/Alaska Native, or the insurance does not cover a particular vaccine
  • Adults who have no insurance or the insurance does not cover a particular vaccine

Current exceptions to this ruling are: flu shots and pertussis containing vaccines like Tdap.

 

BROWN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Brown County Health Department offers immunizations multiple days during the week. Please call for an appointment, 448-6400. Late appointments are available twice a month.

 

OCONTO COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

Oconto County Public Health (OCPH) offers FREE immunizations at three locations throughout the county: Oconto, Oconto Falls and Mountain.

Evening appointments are available in Oconto and Oconto Falls.

Immunizations are by appointment only. Call 920-834-7000 to make an immunization appointment.

 

SHAWANO COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT

IMMUNIZATION CLINICS: By appointment only, call 715-526-4808.
Cost: $5 per vaccine administration fee. No one will be denied due to inability to pay.

Our immunization clinics are held by appointment:

?  Courthouse Room 102-  Morning and afternoon appointments offered monthly.

?  Wittenberg Community Center - Tuesday after every 3rd Monday

Note: Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.
