At its Dec. 20 business meeting, the Pulaski Community School District Board of Education unanimously approved a renewal of contract for Superintendent Rebecca J. Kurzynske. She was named superintendent by the board in February 2016 after serving as interim superintendent since May 2015.
“The board is pleased to renew Mrs. Kurzynske’s contract. She understands the values of our diverse district and is very visible in the community. She has a deep concern for the well-being of our students and staff and is a strong advocate for our children and schools,” said board President Michael Voelker.
“I look forward to continuing to work with the board, our staff, students, and the community for years to come, and I thank the board for trusting me to serve the best interests of our district,” Mrs. Kurzynske said.
“Over the past two years, our district has undertaken numerous projects to improve our facilities for the benefit of the students and community while being responsible to taxpayers by operating within our budget,” Mr. Voelker added. “Our staff retention is the highest it has been in years, and our district scored ‘exceeds expectations’ on state report cards. These accomplishments are the result of a true team effort by our staff and members of the community, and would not have been possible without Mrs. Kurzynske’s effective leadership.”
Mrs. Kurzynske’s new contract takes effect July 1, 2018, and extends to June 30, 2020.
