Scheduling

Scheduling Information for Current Fifth Grade Students: In the sixth grade, students will have five core classes, Physical Education, and the trimester courses. Students are to select one of the following options: 1) Band and Team Study, 2) Choir and Team Study, 3) General Music and Team Study, or 4) Band and Choir with No Team Study. Scheduling forms will be included in the fifth grade orientation packets.

Sixth Grade Courses:

  • Language Arts 6
  • Literature 6
  • Pre-Algebra 1 and Pre-Algebra 2
  • Science 6
  • Social Studies 6
  • Team Study 6* and/or Band 6 and/or Choir 6 (day 1/day 2)
  • Band Lessons and/or Choir Lessons or General Music 6/7 (day 1/day 2)
  • Physical Education 6 (day 1/day 2)
  • Exploratory Courses "NEW" 6th Grade Specials - 4 week exploratory courses in the following areas: Agriscience, Art 6A, Art 6B, Business, Family Consumer Science, Intro to French, Project Lead the Way, Intro to Spanish, and Technology 6.

Scheduling Information for Current Sixth Students: In January, the students will be given course selection forms for the 2012-2013 school year. These forms are time sensitive, so please forward the forms back as soon as possible. Sixth grade students should give their forms to their homeroom teachers.

In the seventh grade, students will have five core classes, Physical Education, and the trimester courses. Students are to select one of the following options: 1) Band and Team Study, 2) Choir and Team Study, 3) Band and Choir with No Team Study, or 4) Team Study Only (no music). In addition, students will select either French or Spanish.

Seventh Grade Courses:

  • Language Arts 7
  • Literature 7
  • Pre-Algebra 2-A, Pre-Algebra 2, and Algebra 
  • Science 7
  • Social Studies 7
  • Team Study 7 or Band 7 and/or Choir 7 (day 1/day 2 – all year)
  • Physical Education 7/Health 7
  • Trimester Courses: Art 7, Gateway to Technology 7 (NEW), and Intro to French 7 or Intro to Spanish 7

Scheduling Information for Current Seventh Grade Students: In January, the students will be given course selection forms for the 2012-2013 school year. These forms are time sensitive, so please forward the forms back as soon as possible. Seventh grade students should give their forms to Mrs. Dawn Van Schyndel, Secretary/Scheduler, in the student center.

In the eighth grade, students will have four core classes, enrichment courses, Physical Education, electives (listed below), and one of the following options: 1) Band and Team Study, 2) Choir and Team Study, 3) Band and Choir with No Team Study, or 4) Team Study (no music). In addition, students will select electives, which will be honored to the best of our ability.

Eighth Grade Courses:

  • Enrichment Courses (by trimester, courses may change throughout the year)*
  • Communication Arts 8
  • Pre-Algebra 2-B, Algebra 8, and Geometry 8
  • Science 8 and Compacted Science 8/9
  • Social Studies 8
  • Physical Education 8 (day 1/day 2 – all year)
  • Electives: Agriscience 8; Art 8; Automation, Robotics, and the Magic of Electrons 8 (NEW); Band 8; Business and You 8; Family and Consumer Science 8 (FACS); Team Study; Technology Education 8 (wood shop); Vocal Music 8; and World Language Electives—French 1 and Spanish 1

*Enrichment Courses (courses may change throughout the year): Architecture and Urban Design, Crime Scene Investigations, Crossing Borders, E2 – Environment Everyday, Experiencing Reading in the 21st Century, From Wall Street to Wisconsin, Keeping Current in a Changing World, Let’s Go Green, “Logue’s Court” Innocent or Guilty – “Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury,” Owning a Sports Franchise in the 21st Century, Politics, and Sports Technology. Placement in the following enrichment classes is based on current individual MAP data trends: Focused Math – Math Matters, Focused Reading, and School Success.
