This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution.

  • There is no age restriction 
  • Be sure to include your name and the school you are attending this year and next 
  • This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are.

    Please do not send transcripts or letters of recommendation at this time.

Requirements:
All applicants must be graduating from a Wisconsin public or private high school in 2013 and plan to attend a Wisconsin public or private college or vocational technical institute in 2013.  Students compete by submitting an essay on the following topic:
 
"Should state funds be used to assist in the maintenance and construction of local roads, and if so, from what types of funding sources?"
 
Essay only!!! Printed, not hand-written, essay should be between 500 and 1000 words and double spaced. 
 
Essays must include a bibliographic listing sources used!! 
Awards:

Seven $1,000 scholarships given based on essay ranking.

The HRI Endowment Fund is composed of several scholarship funds that aid students who are seeking a lifelong career in horticulture. HRI and its member firms consider graduating students in horticulture to be the lifeblood of the green industry.
