Non-Discrimination

The Pulaski Community School District shall establish and maintain an atmosphere in which all persons can develop attitudes and skills for effective, cooperative living, including:

  • Respect for the individual regardless of economic status,race, color, national origin, age, sex, creed or religion, genetic informaton, handicap or disability, marital status, citizenship status, veteran status, military service (as defined in 111.32, Wis. Stats.), sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, arrest record, or conviction record.  
  • Respect for cultural differences;
  • Respect for economic, political and social rights of others; and
  • Respect for the right of others to seek and maintain their own identities.

The district shall continue to thoroughly re-examine all parts of the curriculum to make sure that it emphasizes positive human relationships. The instructional materials used in the schools must accurately portray the history, contributions and culture of the various ethnic groups in our society.

In keeping with the requirements of federal and state law, the district shall strive to remove any vestige of discrimination in employment, assignment and promotion of personnel; in educational opportunities and services offered students, their assignment to schools and classes, and their discipline; in location and use of facilities; and in educational opportunities and materials.

The district does not discriminate on the basis of any characteristic protected under state or federal law.  The district shall not discriminate in admissions to any school, class, program or activity based on the traits of sex (including transgender status, change of sex, or gender identity), race, color, national origin, religion, creed, ancestry, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability, or any other characteristic protected by Federal or state civil rights laws. Discrimination complaints shall be processed in accordance with established procedures.
